Composites for reinforcement have a wide range of use. From weakened bridge columns to piping damaged by corrosion, they have proven to be a cost effective and reliable means of rehabilitation. Air Logistics offers two types of reinforcement products: pre-impregnated and field lay-up. Both offer excellent performance in a wide variety of applications, while offering ease of installation in nearly every condition.

Aquawrap® is a low cost composite system for use in repair and reinforcement of existing mechanical systems, structures, and piping. Furnished factory-impregnated with the proprietary 22-77 resin system, it is odorless and non-flammable. Aquawrap® is ready to apply right out of the bag and cures by way of a chemical reaction with field-applied water. When cured, it is a very durable, high strength material that is impervious to fuels and most hydrocarbons. It permanently bonds to a wide variety of surfaces such as metals, composites, concrete, plastics, and wood. It comes sealed in pouches and is available in many widths and lengths to suit all applications. Alternate fabric types and weaves are also available for special projects.

TM

PowerSleeve® , our engineered composite kit, consists of a fabric that is a hybrid of E-glass and Kevlar®. This special fabric is non-crimped and provides strength in a multi-axis layout. This non-crimp weave provides exceptional strength due to reduced point loading on the glass yarns at the cross sections. A variety of resin systems are used to provide durability in many conditions. Piping temperatures up to 500 degrees F can be repaired, as well as systems containing harsh chemicals, such as acids. Although our systems are designed for reinforcement only, we take these extra precautions of chemical compatibility to ensure a safe repair in case of incidental contact.

Both systems can be tailored to meet specific needs when required. As a manufacturer experienced with dynamic work conditions, we are able to offer un-compromised customer service. We are committed to providing what you need, when you need it.

Primer & Coating Systems

The application of primer is an integral step in ensuring high performance with any of our composite systems. The primer provides a bond between the substrate being repaired and the composite lay-up. Without it, the reinforcement properties of the installation are compromised. Each one of our primer and coating systems are used for a specific application and should be used in the manner for which they are intended.

BP-1 Base Primer System -
A two-component polyurethane based system designed for general use. BP-1 contains glass fibers for additional strength. It works well with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, wood, and concrete. It may also be used on some plastics such as PVC, polyethylene, and fiberglass.

BP-2 Base Primer System -
A one-component urethane based system specifically intended to bond uncured Aquawrap® to cured Aquawrap® surfaces. It is designed for use in heavy Aquawrap® lay-ups where all of the layers are unable to be applied at the same time.

BP-4 System for Underwater -
A two-component epoxy based system designed specifically for underwater applications where concrete is the parent material. It is a solvent-free, non-sag formulation with excellent chemical and abrasion resistance. Kevlar® microfibers reinforce against hairline cracking and chipping. When working in the splash zone or under water, this system is an excellent choice for use as a protective coating over a cured Aquawrap® installation. Color is light grey.

BP-10 Filler and Bonder -
A two-component epoxy based system designed specifically for use as a high strength filler and bonder. It contains a unique blend of liquid epoxy polymer and aliphatic polyamine curing agents. Kevlar® fibers are incorporated for reinforcement and viscosity management. It can be used on any steel surface with proper preparation. Works well above and below water where steel is the parent material. Can be sanded smooth after curing.

5/20 Epoxy Stick™ -
5 minute working time, 20 minute set.
A two-component, epoxy based material furnished in sticks with the Parts A and B co-axially extruded together so that a portion of the stick can be cut off, kneaded together, yielding the proper mix ratio without measurement of special containers.  This formula is designed for and set up for rapid cure and exceptional adhesion to carbon steel surfaces.  The cured product is resistant to most hydrocarbons, ketones, alcohols, esters, halocarbons, fresh and salt water, dilute acids and bases.  Use to plug holes and stop leaks.  Can be sanded and machined after full cure. Available in 7” long sticks.

5/20 UW Epoxy Stick™ -
5 minute working time, 20 minute set, cures underwater. A two-component, epoxy based material furnished in sticks with the Parts A and B co-axially extruded together so that a portion of the stick can be cut off, kneaded together, yielding the proper mix ratio without measurement of special containers.  This special formula is designed for underwater use and is set up for rapid cure and exceptional adhesion to carbon steel surfaces.  The cured product is resistant to most hydrocarbons, ketones, alcohols, esters, halocarbons, fresh and salt water, dilute acids and bases.  Use to plug holes and stop leaks.  Can be sanded and machined after full cure. Stricture Banding™ -
A unique material used to compress and consolidate the composite installation. Using Stricture Banding™
is a critical step in ensuring a high strength installation
.

Perforator Tool -
Perforation in the Stricture Banding™ is required to release CO2 gas buildup that occurs during the cure of Aquawrap®. The tool used by every professional installer.
